Desperation-Web
You wake up locked in a cell, in a military research facility that has gone very wrong. Something is awake in here with you — and it hunts by sound.
Restore the power. Find the keycards. Get out.
▓ IT HEARS EVERYTHING
Noise is the core mechanic. A meter tracks every sound you make. Walking is quiet; sprinting is fast and loud; crouching is almost silent. Throwing the four breakers to restore power makes a noise you cannot take back — and it will come to look.
The creature runs a full AI state machine: it patrols, investigates sounds, chases on sight, and searches your last known position before giving up. Hide in a locker — but if it watches you climb in, it will tear the door open.
▓ EVERY CHOICE COSTS SOMETHING
Four serums, each colour-coded and each a trade:
• SPEED — 40% faster, 50% louder
• REGEN — survive one attack that would kill you
• SUPPRESSOR — muffles your footsteps
• VISION — see the creature on your map, but move slower
There are tools too. A radio in the dormitory will pull the creature clear across the map. The west-wing fire alarm rings for eight seconds and buries every sound you make while it does — long enough for all four breakers, if you have the nerve.
▓ CONTROLS
WASD move · SHIFT sprint · SHIFT+C slide · C crouch · SPACE jump
E interact / hide · F flashlight · M map · ESC pause
Headphones strongly recommended. You will hear it long before you see it.
▓ ABOUT
This is a three.js demake of Desperation, originally built in Unreal Engine 5 for CSE420 (3D Video Game Development). The facility layout is reconstructed from the original level file, so the rooms, doors, lockers and pickups sit where they sit in the real game.
Everything you see and hear is generated by code — there are no texture files, no models and no audio files. Wall grime, blood, the creature itself, footsteps, its growls, the fire alarm and the jumpscare are all drawn and synthesised at runtime.

Definitely worth playing.
This game creates an incredibly tense atmosphere where every sound matters. The procedural graphics and audio are especially impressive, making the experience feel unique despite everything being generated in real time. The sound-based gameplay keeps you constantly thinking about every move. If you enjoy stealth horror games that reward careful planning and keep you on edge, this is definitely worth playing.
